    What this does

    This tells you what questions a form actually asks: every field’s full name, the kind of answer it takes, what it currently holds, which of its options are allowed, and which pages it is asked on. It is the thing to run before filling a form in bulk, because a field’s name is rarely the label printed beside it — it is the name the file spells out through the tree the field sits in, and that is what an answer has to be addressed to.

    Questions people ask

    Why do I need this before filling a form?

    Because you have to address each answer to a field name, and the name is in the file rather than on the page. This lists them exactly as they must be typed.

    It says the document has no fields, but I can see boxes.

    Then the boxes are printed on the page rather than being a form — very common with scanned or exported documents. There is nothing to fill in programmatically; you would place text on the page instead.

    Is my file uploaded anywhere?

    No. The work happens in this browser tab, on your own machine. There is no server in this product to send a file to, which is why the promise is checkable rather than something you have to take on trust: open your browser's network panel and watch it do the work without making a request.

    Is there a size limit, or a limit on how many files?

    None that we impose. The limit is your own machine's memory, because that is where the work happens — a few hundred megabytes is comfortable on a laptop, and less on a phone. There is no daily task counter, no queue and no account.

    What does it cost, and what is the catch?

    Nothing, and there is no paid tier that unlocks features: the whole product is the free one. That is affordable because running it costs us nothing — your computer does the work — so there is no per-file cost to recover, no advertising and no data to sell.
