What this does
This places several pages on each sheet — two, four, six, nine or sixteen — which is what you want for a handout, a proof print or a contact sheet of a deck. The pages are scaled to fit their cell and centred in it, so pages of different sizes still line up. Everything on each page is drawn as it was, at the size the cell allows.
What it will not do
Every tool here says what it cannot do, in its own words, before you rely on it.
- A bookmark follows its page to the sheet it landed on. Links and form fields do not: several pages now share a sheet, and there is nowhere correct to put them.
Questions people ask
How many pages can go on a sheet?
Two, four, six, nine or sixteen, in either a portrait or a landscape arrangement, and you can say which direction they run in — across then down, or down then across.
Is this the same as printing two pages per sheet?
It is the same result, made into a file. A printer driver can do this on the way to the paper; this gives you a PDF that already looks that way, which is what you need if you are sending it to somebody else to print.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The work happens in this browser tab, on your own machine. There is no server in this product to send a file to, which is why the promise is checkable rather than something you have to take on trust: open your browser's network panel and watch it do the work without making a request.
Is there a size limit, or a limit on how many files?
None that we impose. The limit is your own machine's memory, because that is where the work happens — a few hundred megabytes is comfortable on a laptop, and less on a phone. There is no daily task counter, no queue and no account.
What does it cost, and what is the catch?
Nothing, and there is no paid tier that unlocks features: the whole product is the free one. That is affordable because running it costs us nothing — your computer does the work — so there is no per-file cost to recover, no advertising and no data to sell.
